Sauron feature

The searches you are already almost winning

Most SEO work is a bet on a page that does not exist yet, and it takes months to settle. This is the opposite. Sauron reads the last 28 days of your own Search Console, finds the pages Google already shows and shoppers do not click, and rewrites those first. Nothing has to move in the rankings for a click-through fix to land, which is why it is the fastest thing SEO can do for you.

The difference

Before
A collection sitting at position 6 for a term with 2,400 impressions a month, and a title Google truncates into nothing worth clicking
After Sauron
The same page, same position, with a title and description written for the term it already ranks for
Nothing has to move in Google for this one to land

The problem

Why this costs you rankings

Almost every store has pages Google is already showing to thousands of people a month and that hardly anyone clicks, plus a tail of pages sitting at the bottom of page one or the top of page two. They do not feel like problems, because nothing is broken and nothing is missing. They never surface, because seeing them means opening Search Console, switching to the query view, and reading position against click-through per page. So the store spends its effort building something new while the traffic it already earned goes uncollected.

The solution

How Sauron fixes it

Sauron pulls your Search Console data at the level of individual search terms, not just pages, and looks for two specific kinds of waste: a page ranking in the top ten whose click-through is well below what your own store normally gets at that position, and a page sitting between positions 8 and 20 with real impressions behind it. The first is a title and description problem and shows up in clicks within days. The second is a targeting problem and needs one rewrite, not a new page.

How it works

Step by step

1

It reads your own search terms, not a page average

A page's average position is a blend of every term it ranks for, so a page averaging 14 tells you nothing about the term sitting at 11 with 900 impressions. Sauron fetches your Search Console data at query and page level over a 28-day window, which is the only grain at which a quick win is visible at all.

2

Two patterns, two different fixes

Shown but not clicked: the page ranks in the top ten and has real impressions, but its click-through sits well under your own store's normal rate for that position. The fix is the title and meta description. Just off the pace: the page sits between positions 8 and 20 with impressions behind it. The fix is re-targeting the on-page copy at the term it is already close on.

3

The bar is your store's own data

To say a page under-performs on clicks you need an expected click-through rate. Sauron uses the median of your own pages in the same position band, never a published position-to-click-through curve, because those swing wildly by search result shape and industry. If there is not enough of your own data to set a bar, the page is still listed and the number is left off rather than guessed.

4

Fixing one is the same safe path as everything else

Acting on a quick win rewrites the collection or product through the normal pipeline: the same quality score gate, and the same review queue or autopilot setting you already chose. There is no separate publishing path and no exception. Pages you dismiss are never raised again.

Benefits

What you get

It works on day one, before anything is published

Every other kind of SEO evidence needs something to be published, then indexed, then ranked, then measured, which is a month at best. Quick wins reads data that already exists in your account, so there is something true and specific to act on in the first session.

The cheapest traffic in the store

A click-through fix needs nothing to move in Google. The impressions are already there and the ranking is already earned, so the whole job is making the result worth clicking. That is a title and a description, and the effect shows up in days rather than months.

Finding them never touches your allowance

A scan reads Search Console, which costs nothing, so looking is not metered on any plan that can connect it. Only acting on a win spends a page from your monthly allowance. The meter is on the work, not on the insight.

Every number is an estimate and says so

The extra-clicks figure is your impressions multiplied by the gap between your current click-through and your own baseline, over the window observed. It is never presented as a forecast, and where no baseline can be established Sauron shows the page with no number at all.

Questions

Quick Wins FAQ

Do I need Google Search Console for this? +

Yes, and it is the one genuinely required setup step. Quick wins is built entirely on your own Search Console data, so without the connection there is nothing to read. Search Console is available from the Starter plan upward; the Free plan cannot connect it. Connecting is a Google sign-in and nothing is published to Google on your behalf.

How is this different from Sauron noticing a page has slipped? +

They are opposites, and Sauron runs both. Rank recovery fires when something already published has lost position, which it can only judge after the copy has had time to settle. Quick wins fires when a page is close to gaining and has never been touched. If a page was recently repaired for decay, it is held back from quick wins for 30 days so the two do not rewrite the same page twice.

Why does it ignore pages ranking below position 20? +

Because calling that a quick win would be wishful. A page on the third page of results is not one title away from traffic; it needs the underlying page rebuilt or a better-targeted page created, which is what the collection gap finder and the keyword work are for. Drawing the line at 20 keeps the word 'quick' honest.

Is the extra-clicks number a prediction? +

No, and it is labelled as an estimate everywhere it appears. It is your observed impressions multiplied by the difference between the page's current click-through and your own store's median at that position, over the window measured. It is a description of what was left on the table in the last 28 days, not a promise about the next 28. Where there is not enough of your own data to establish a baseline, no number is shown rather than a guessed one.

Can it fix blog posts too? +

Not yet. Quick wins can rewrite collections and products, and blog articles are listed with a link to open the post rather than a rewrite button. The targeting instructions that make the rewrite work have not been threaded into the article pipeline yet, and offering a button that quietly did something weaker would be worse than not offering it.
