Does Sauron work with Universal Analytics (UA)? +

No. Universal Analytics was sunset by Google on 1 July 2023 and is no longer collecting data. Sauron integrates only with GA4, which is the current Google Analytics platform.

Which GA4 metrics does Sauron import? +

Sauron imports sessions, conversions, and revenue filtered to organic search traffic (Google medium = organic), grouped by landing page URL. It matches these to your Shopify product and collection pages automatically.

Do I need GA4 ecommerce tracking set up? +

For revenue data, yes — you need GA4 ecommerce events configured in your Shopify store (either via the Shopify GA4 integration or Google Tag Manager). For session data only, basic GA4 page view tracking is sufficient.

Can I connect GA4 without connecting GSC? +

Yes. GA4 and GSC are separate integrations. However, you get the most value with both connected — GSC provides keyword and ranking data, GA4 provides post-click behaviour and revenue data. Together they give a complete SEO performance picture.
