You trigger an SEO generation task (or it runs automatically via auto-publish mode).
Sauron's model router selects the appropriate AI: Gemini Flash for product/collection meta copy and keyword candidates; Claude Sonnet for blog content, alt text, and backlink scoring.
The prompt is assembled with your brand voice profile, product data, SERP competitor titles, and task-specific instructions.
The AI generates the copy. A quality score is calculated. If below threshold, the generation is rejected and retried with an improved prompt.
Token usage and cost (in microdollars) is recorded per generation for billing transparency. You can see total AI spend in your account dashboard.

Not individually per task — Sauron's model routing is managed automatically based on task type and quality requirements. This ensures every task uses the most cost-effective model for its quality bar. Manual model selection is on the roadmap for merchants who want explicit control.
Is my product data sent to OpenAI or Anthropic? +
Your product data is sent to AI providers for generation purposes. Sauron uses OpenRouter as an intermediary, which routes to Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini). Both providers have data processing agreements compatible with commercial use. Data is not used to train foundation models.
What's the quality difference between Claude Sonnet and Gemini Flash? +
For Shopify SEO use cases, Gemini Flash produces excellent meta titles and descriptions quickly — ideal for bulk generation across hundreds of products. Claude Sonnet produces superior long-form blog content with better narrative coherence and brand voice fidelity — worth the higher cost for content that needs to rank for competitive informational queries.
